■ The traditional method of insulating stud walls is to fix between the studs.
■ Cut the CNZ Insulation boards accurately to ensure they will fit tightly between the studding and around openings such as window and door openings.
■ The boards should be held in place by nails or a timber batten to the warm side of the insulation.
■ This void may be utilized as an insulated service duct.
■ Add the finishing touches (plasterboard lining).
■ Relevant accredited details should be followed to ensure you reach the calculated performance.
Due to its high thermal performance PIR enables builders and architects to continue working with traditional 90mm framing. The above detail depicts 75mm PIR within a standard 90mm frame. This allows space for wires to run down the front of the insulation, while meeting R-value requirements for residential and commercial walls in all six climate zones across the country. Use of 90mm framing enables architects to maintain the internal space of a room.
